One of the prominent names in Turkish figurative painting, Orhan Umut, opened his solo exhibition “Night Vision” yesterday at DG Art Project, curated by Zeynep Öztürk.
Speaking about the works on display, Umut remarked:
“People often prefer to see joyful, smiling, cheerful images. But I aim to focus on the other side of the coin—to highlight stillness, and perhaps a touch of chaotic tension, and convey that to the viewer.”
The exhibition will be open to visitors until May 11th.

“I Believe It Turned Out to Be a Beautiful Exhibition”
Speaking about his latest show, painter Orhan Umut said:
“The title of the exhibition at DG Art Project is ‘Night Vision’. It consists of 50 works and is the result of a process that took nearly 14 months—a major team effort. I believe it turned out to be a beautiful exhibition, and I warmly invite all art lovers to visit. The exhibition will be open from April 18 to May 11.”
He also shared insights into the development of the theme:
“Right at the midpoint of the preparation process, a series of works related to the night began to emerge. From that moment on, my focus shifted heavily in that direction. That’s when I felt the need to name the exhibition ‘Night Vision’. Visitors will also notice that some earlier works are included, but the exhibition predominantly features pieces inspired by nighttime imagery.”
