Location DG ART GALLERY & PROJECT
Date 31 OCTOBER 2024 - 28 NOVEMBER 2024

Erkut TERLİKSİZ is preparing to meet art enthusiasts at DG Art Project with his painting exhibition titled “DOKI – DOKI,” curated by Zeynep ÖZTÜRK.

Stating that “The first rule of painting is that there are no rules.” TERLİKSİZ conveys intense emotions such as excitement, fear, love, and anxiety through figures that spark curiosity in viewers and attempt to express feelings in an energetic and universal visual language. His figures—resembling cartoon characters—create a three-dimensional effect through their colors and rhythms, drawing viewers into the works with the hidden stories they contain.

Painting without planning or setting boundaries, and instead following his instant and shifting emotional states, the artist returns to Istanbul with a solo exhibition after a long hiatus, following highly successful exhibitions abroad.

The works featured in the exhibition bear traces that both reference Japanese anime culture and present an emotional intensity that appeals to all viewers. The exhibition engages audiences not only visually but also emotionally, taking its name from the Japanese onomatopoeic sound effect “DOKI-DOKI,” which describes the rapid beating of the heart.

The exhibition “DOKI – DOKI,” curated by Zeynep ÖZTÜRK, can be visited at DG Art Project until November 28, 2024.
