Rafa Macarrón
Rafa Macarrón, born in 1981 in Madrid, Spain, is a self-taught artist known for his vibrant, surrealist-inspired works that blend playful drawing and figuration with bold chromatic abstraction. Living and working in Madrid, his paintings often feature elongated, alien-like figures within dreamlike settings, conveying a sense of isolation and introspection. Initially trained as a physiotherapist and having competed as a road racing cyclist, Macarrón turned to painting professionally at the age of 25. His work has been exhibited internationally, including solo shows at venues such as Nino Mier Gallery in Los Angeles and Lio Malca Gallery in New York. His art continues to invite viewers to explore themes of identity, emotion, and the human experience.
