Oliver Beer
Oliver Beer is a visual artist and composer born in 1985 in England. After studying music composition in London, he furthered his education in visual arts at the Ruskin School of Art at Oxford University and in cinema theory in Paris. His artistic practice blends his training in both music and visual arts, producing sculptures, installations, videos, and live performances that uncover the hidden acoustic properties of objects and spaces. In 2007, he initiated "The Resonance Project," in which he explored the natural resonances of different spaces using the human voice, inviting viewers to experience and engage with these acoustics. Beer’s work explores the unifying potential of music that resonates across history, generations, and cultures. His art delves into social and familial relationships, the transmission of musical heritage, and the personal and cultural meanings embedded in objects. His works invite the audience to rethink their perception of sound and space through interaction with objects and environments.
