Milko Pavlov, born in 1956 in Aytos, Bulgaria, is a renowned contemporary painter and graphic artist. In 1961, he moved to Sofia with his family. In 1976, he decided not to enroll in the Academy of Arts and instead attended private lessons with various teachers in the following years. He began his artistic career by participating in a collective exhibition organized by the Union of Bulgarian Artists in 1983, presenting watercolors and oil paintings. In 1988, he was awarded a diploma at the Fourth International Competition for Young Artists in Sofia. After 1989, Pavlov became a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists and co-founded the Forever Young Artists Club. He also served as the Bulgarian coordinator for ARTEST from 1991 to 1995. Pavlov's works have been exhibited internationally, including in Germany, the United States, and other countries. Since 2012, he has been living and working in Berlin. In 2012, he held a solo exhibition titled "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" at the OMC Gallery. In 2014, he participated in the group exhibition "Illusive Places" at Pace Gallery in Seoul. Milko Pavlov's art is characterized by abstract and detailed graphic works. Using the frottage technique, he creates large-scale pieces on paper with graphite. These works invite viewers to engage in thoughtful interpretation and reflection.
