Lorenzo Quinn is a contemporary Italian sculptor born on May 7, 1966, in Rome, Italy. He is the son of renowned actor Anthony Quinn. Quinn studied art at the American Academy of Fine Arts in New York, initially starting his career as a painter before transitioning to sculpture. He is particularly known for his works that use hands to convey human emotions and universal concepts. One of his most notable works is "Support," displayed in Venice in 2017. This sculpture features a pair of giant hands supporting the façade of a historic building, highlighting the impact of climate change and rising sea levels. In 2019, during the Venice Biennale, he unveiled "Building Bridges," a sculpture consisting of six pairs of hands joining together to form bridges, symbolizing values such as friendship, wisdom, help, hope, faith, and love. Quinn's work often explores themes of love, faith, and the passage of time, combining classical and modern styles to delve into the human experience.
