Jorinde Voigt
Jorinde Voigt is a contemporary artist born on January 19, 1977, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and is currently based in Berlin. Before pursuing art, she studied philosophy and literature at Georg-August University, then completed a Master's in Visual Culture Studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), where she studied under Katharina Sieverding. Voigt is best known for her large-scale drawings that develop complex notation systems derived from music, philosophy, and phenomenology. She creates her own visual language to translate phenomena like melodies and literature into visual and aesthetic dimensions, using fine pencil lines and notations to represent cognitive processes within her artistic system. From 2014 to 2019, she taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and currently, she serves as a Professor of Conceptual Drawing and Painting at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. Her works have been featured in numerous significant exhibitions worldwide. For instance, in 2012, the Nevada Museum of Art hosted her solo exhibition titled "Jorinde Voigt: Systematic Notations."
