César Piette

César Piette is a French artist born in 1982 in Lille, currently residing in Côte d’Azur, France. He completed his Master's in Graphic Arts and Design at École Émile Cohl in Lyon and worked between 2005 and 2012 on video games and illustrations for companies like Ubisoft and Ankama. ​ Blending traditional techniques with modern approaches, Piette skillfully employs elements such as monochromatic layers, perspective, light, and composition in his art. His "hyperplastic" works, created using airbrush techniques, feature three-dimensional effects intersecting with design, photography, and advertising. By addressing classical subjects with a contemporary perspective, he makes references to art history. ​ Piette's works have been exhibited in prestigious galleries like Almine Rech. For instance, in 2023, his solo exhibition "Butterfly Paintings" was held at Almine Rech Gallery in New York. Additionally, in 2024, he presented his first museum exhibition titled "Render" at the chi K11 art museum in Shanghai. ​
