Albert Oehlen, born on September 17, 1954, in Krefeld, Germany, is a German painter, installation artist, and musician. He emerged as a prominent figure in the 1980s within the Neo-Expressionist and Neue Wilde movements. Oehlen studied Fine Arts under Sigmar Polke at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg from 1977 to 1981. ​ Oehlen's work combines abstract and conceptual approaches, featuring large-scale canvases and computer-generated images. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with esteemed galleries such as Max Hetzler and Gagosian, and his artworks have been exhibited in museums worldwide. ​
