Aboudia Artist Image

Aboudia, born in 1983 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, is one of the rising stars of contemporary African art. His real name is Abdoulaye Diarrassouba. Aboudia gained international recognition with his large-scale canvases depicting war scenes during the 2010 civil conflict in Abidjan. His works combine the aesthetics of street art with traditional African symbols and contemporary social issues. Drawing inspiration from children's graffiti and the harsh realities of urban life, his layered compositions are characterized by vivid colors and dynamic brushstrokes. Aboudia’s style is often compared to that of Jean-Michel Basquiat. He has held solo exhibitions in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, and Zurich, and his works are part of prominent international collections.
