OZAN OGANER
Ozan Oganer was born in 1973. He graduated as the top student from the Sculpture Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University in 2002. In 2010, with the support of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), he attended a six-month artist residency program at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Oganer has participated in numerous group exhibitions and has also held solo exhibitions. During his university years, he worked in the studio of sculptor Cengiz Çekil, and this experience played a significant role in his artistic development. Oganer’s work traces mythological, cultural, and personal histories, questioning these subjects through his artistic practice. For Oganer, art is not only a form of expression but also a way of life, and producing is his existential purpose. His sculptures are included in many private and institutional collections, including the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art. Oganer continues his work in İzmir.
