AHMET YEŞİL

AHMET YEŞİL Artist Image

Born in Mersin, the artist completed his primary, secondary, and high school education there. In 1972, he lost the ability to walk due to an illness. Encouraged by painter Nuri Abaç, İlhan Çevik, and sculptor Ernür Tüzün, he turned to painting and received education from these same mentors. Quickly establishing his artistic style, he embraced painting as a way of life and dedicated all his time to it. He continued his work uninterrupted in his private studio in Mersin and participated in group, solo, and competitive exhibitions in various cities. Due to his special interest and love for the city he lived in, he created a series of works on "The Old Houses of Mersin" in 1988. The artist’s works are featured in numerous private collections in Turkey, and they are also present in important foreign collections, including those in Germany, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Ahmet Yeşil is a member of the UNICEF International Plastic Arts Association and has held over 100 solo exhibitions to date, along with participating in countless group and competitive exhibitions. He has received awards in both national and international competitions.
