Ahmet Güneştekin’s solo exhibition titled The Alphabet of Yedigören will be on view at DG Art Project in Piyalepaşa from December 8, 2022, to February 4, 2023.

Founded by Dursun Gündoğdu and organized in collaboration with the Güneştekin Foundation, the opening exhibition of DG Art Project brings together works from various disciplines that reflect Güneştekin’s unique approach to mythology. Curated by Şener Özmen, the exhibition presents a rich selection of the artist’s sculptures that convey temporal and spatial complexity, dimensional works that create an illusion of movement across the surface, canvas pieces that use myths as an interpretive strategy, and patchworks that invite tactile engagement with multi-layered narratives. The exhibition showcases Güneştekin’s symbol-laden works, in which he elaborates on his mythological vision with sophisticated, comprehensive, and intellectually challenging diversity.

Güneştekin interprets symbols through mythology—a structural principle of his thought—while also transforming and reinventing them. This migration and transformation of symbols emerge in his patterned works, where he integrates language into imagery and combines spiral forms with mythological figures. He employs myths as a meta-language, a way of seeing, to both decode and construct complex meanings.

The artist’s fascination with light, time, and the realm of stars is prominently reflected in his sculptures shaped from metal forms. In these works, he incorporates temporal dimensions into celestial phenomena, allowing the natural forms and forces of the cosmos to shape the narrative. His geometric sculptures, composed of diverse configurations, not only invite deeper interaction but also suggest that myths continue to connect with the present moment.

The Alphabet of Yedigören, Ahmet Güneştekin’s solo exhibition, can be visited at DG Art Project in Piyalepaşa between December 8, 2022, and February 4, 2023.
