Güngör Taner’s solo exhibition titled ‘Noblesse’, curated by Dr. Zeynep Öztürk, will be on view at DG Art Project until March 27.

Having held numerous solo exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad, Güngör Taner reunites with art enthusiasts after a long break with his solo exhibition “Noblesse”, hosted by DG Art Project and curated by Zeynep Öztürk, on view until March 27.
Named after the French word “Noblesse”, meaning “nobility”, the exhibition highlights the autonomy of color, where the artist creates a rhythmic balance between dark and light tones through an abstract approach.

In Taner’s works, colors and forms transcend the boundaries of the canvas, creating balanced yet dynamic compositions across large surfaces. Central to the artist’s practice is the rhythmic dialogue between colors and the bursts of stains that erupt over flatly painted areas. By allowing colors to dance freely, Taner establishes a unique visual language. Through the contrast of dark and light tones, he adds depth to his pieces and draws the viewer into the energy of the composition.
In his art, balance is not static but rather rhythmic and in motion. The colors generate a sense of flow with gestures that resemble the abstract reflection of turbulent waves, radiating a calm yet powerful energy. Each composition presents a dance of color and light that sparks a sense of discovery in the viewer’s eye.

Güngör Taner masterfully brings together contrasting colors in his works, creating striking visual contrasts. In his compositions, color takes center stage as the main character. Primary colors such as red, blue, and yellow stand out prominently and interact with one another through fluid transitions. Using each color in his own distinctive style, Taner successfully establishes a warm–cool relationship throughout every part of the canvas. The sensation of color waves and bursts within his works enhances their visual depth.
Rhythm is a key element in his compositions—it guides the viewer’s gaze from one point to another and reinforces the dynamic structure of the piece. Colors and forms move like figures in a dance, each playing an essential role in the overall composition. The colors he employs convey both exuberance and excitement, coming together to form a harmonious balance. The artist himself explains this balance by saying:
“In my painting, the path to harmony is created through the use of various contrasts within a certain movement and rhythm.”
